FAQ - Relaying Denied Message

Answer:   To prevent unauthorized users from sending mail through the Silicon Connections mail servers, such as people trying to send SPAM, Silicon Connections only allows computers that are connected to the Silicon Connections network to access our mail servers.  You are connected to the SC network when you are dialed-in to one of Silicon Connections access numbers, or connected to a LAN that is using Silicon Connections IP address space, such as if you have a DSL, ISDN or T1 connection to Silicon Connections.

Question: How can I use Silicon Connections mail servers while not connected to the Silicon Connections network?

Answer: To allow our customers who may be traveling and using the Silicon Connections roaming services, or customers who wish to access SC mail servers while they are not connected directly to SC, such as from a corporate LAN or another Internet provider, we have configured our mail servers to allow you to send mail from your account for up to 1 hour after you have checked your SC mailbox.

To send mail through the SC mail servers from outside of the SC Network:

1) Retrieve your mail from your SC mailbox.  Even if you do not have any mail, this will 'trigger' the SC servers to allow you to send mail.

2) For up to 1 hour from when you checked your mail, you will be able to send mail out from the SC servers.
