Microsoft Outlook Email
Preferences
Question:
How do I setup the my Microsoft
Outlook 98 Email Preferences?
Answer: Use the following
instructions for setup. Microsoft Outlook 98- Set Up
Microsoft Outlook 98 - Setting Up Email Preferences
- Open Microsoft Outlook:
- Click on TOOLS
- Click on Services
- Click on Click the Add button à
Internet Email click on
- Click OK
- Click on ADD MAIL
GENERAL TAB:
- Type the name by which you would like to refer to these servers -
Type a name for
this email account (i.e.: John’s Silicon Mail.)
Click in the Name field: Enter your name, as you want it to appear in your email
headers.
Click in the Email field: Enter in your email address (i.e.jsmith@silcon.com)
Click in the Reply field: Enter your email address again.
SERVER TAB
- Click on the Outgoing mail server field: Enter mail.silcon.com
- Click on the Incoming mail server field: Enter mail.silcon.com
- Account name: Your Login Account name/user id name all in lower case (i.e.-
if your email address is jsmith@silcon.com your user id = jsmith).
- Password: Enter your password (all lower case)
CONNECTION TAB
Mark log on using my phone line. Make sure it has the right Dial Up Networking
Connection listed – your Silicon Connections account.
- Click on FINISH
- You are now setup to use Microsoft Outlook 98 as your email client.
