FAQ - About Composing Email Messages
 Offline/Disconnected from the Internet - Netscape 4.X

Questions: Why do I get disconnected before I my email messages? Can I compose Email Messages when I am not connected to the Internet???

Answer: Email Clients were actually designed to allow you to compose your mail at your leisure "offline" when you are not connected to the Internet. To avoid overloading of your connection, we automatically disconnect you from the Internet after a period of "inactivity".

How to Compose Email Messages Offline/Disconnected from the Internet :

Using Netscape Communicator to Compose Email Messages Offline-

  1. Open your Netscape application.
  2. From the Communicator Menu select Message Center
  3. From the File Menu select Go Offline
  4. From the Download Box make your selection
  5. Click on the Go Offline Button
  6. From the Message Center Window

To compose a New Message - Click on the New Msg Icon
To retrieve, finish, and send an Email Message Draft:

Reconnecting to the Internet to send mail

  1. Complete your Email Message.
  2. From the File Menu select Go Online
  3. From the Download Box make your selection
  4. Click on the Go Online Button
  5. Click on the Send Button

This email message will then be sent.
