FAQ - About Composing Email Messages Offline/Disconnected from the Internet - Eudora Light

Questions: Why do I get disconnected before I my email messages? Can I compose Email Messages when I am not connected to the Internet???

Answer: Email Clients were actually designed to allow you to compose your mail at your leisure "offline" when you are not connected to the Internet. To avoid overloading of your connection, we automatically disconnect you from the Internet after a period of "inactivity".

How to Compose Email Messages Offline/Disconnected from the Internet :

Using Eudora Light to Compose Email Messages Offline-

  1. Open your Eudora Light application.
  2. From the Tools Menu select Options
  3. From the "Getting Started Category" Connection Method, enable/check Offline (no connections)
  4. From the Message menu select New Message.
  5. Compose your new Email Message.
  6. From the File Menu select Save.

This message will then be saved in your "Out" mailbox with a bullet in the Status column. This indicates that the message has been saved and can be sent or queued for sending.  For more information on saving email messages see FAQ - Saving an Email Message for later Completion - Eudora Light

Reconnecting to the Internet to Send Email Messages-

  1. From the Tools Menu select Options
  2. From the "Getting Started Category" Connection Method, disable/uncheck Offline (no connections)
  3. Double click on your "Out" mailbox to open it.
  4. Locate your Unsent message - indicated by a Bullet in the Status Box.
  5. Double click on your selected unsent message to open it.
  6. Complete the message and Click on the Send Button.
